Straight From New York Pizza 25th Anniversary

This is a copy and paste from an email I received from one of the owners of SFNY Pizza.

Salem’s Straight From New York Pizza celebrates it’s 25th anniversary by opening a small neighborhood slice shop in Portland this Friday night (6/17).   Same authentic NY pizza  plus eight rotating taps of local craft beers and Wandering Angus cider.  Located at 3330 SE Belmont. I have to say that I'm excited to see a great Salem restaurant like SFNY  start up in the competitive Portland market.  I have no doubt the folks up there will love this pizza as much as my family does.

The address sounded sorta familiar and there was a pizza place (It's a Beautiful Pizza) very near there that must have gone out of business. If they are taking over that same location it's pretty prime for coffee drinkers as the Belmont Stumptown is right next door.

That is great to see an older Salem company expanding into Portland. They should do well. My family loves their pizza. They've also been active supporters of our elementary school which scores a lot of points in my book. This is good news.

Great news. I'll have to stop by next time I'm feeling hungry in Portland.

Love SFNY, but why would you go there if you're in PDX and you're a Salemite? You can get that pizza in Salem times three.

We checked out the Portland SFNY Saturday night. The place is really nice in a very cool stretch of SE Portland. They were busy and we had to wait on line a bit but pizza was good and the beer was good. Recognized employees from salem which was surprising but pleasant. Nice place, nice pie.

upon leaving we got quite a show with thousands of naked bike riders on parade!! A spectacle we won't soon forget. Only in portland.
