First Wednesday June 1st
"Dogs Night Out"
"Go Downtown Salem for a night on the town with your best canine friend. It’s all about dogs this First Wednesday and its only getting bigger and better every year. This year Go Downtown and the Willamette Humane Society are combining forces to present fun filled evening of doggie games, look-a-like contests, dancing dogs and more. This is a great fund raiser for the Willamette Humane Society and lots of prizes will be presented. To help high light the evening, Miss Marion & Polk County will be on hand to judge the dog/owner look-alike contest.
Speaking of celebrity judges, we are honored to have Smudge the Dignitary Dog from the Statesman Journal (and handler Carol Currie) to help with the judging. There is no entry fee, but donations are welcome at the entrance tables with all proceeds go directly to the Willamette Human Society. Prizes will be donated from our various vendors and supporters for the doggy games. Photographs of the winners will be taken and used in all upcoming First Wednesday Dogs Night Out promotions and by the Willamette Humane Society. .
Come on down early! The games start at 5 pm. The dog/owner look-alike contest will be held at 7 pm. The Willamette Humane Society events will be on Chemeketa Street between Liberty and Commercial. The street will be closed to traffic.
