Man O Man, the Smoked Ribs I had here today were some kinda good! Juicy and slip off the bone tender with perfect (not too sweet but tangy) sauce. Dill nuanced Red and Green Cabbage Slaw and crispy Shoestring French Fries. They even have Malt Vinegar. My server was attentive but didn’t hover. Greggery Peterson, the owner, always makes the rounds assuring that everyone is happy with their food and service. His new Cajun Dinner Entrees will give Salemites a bit of welcome variety to their dinner options. This was my third visit to the Broadway Café. All have been very positive experiences.

Chuck, Sounds like you had an excellent meal. Was it Cajun or Afromerican Creole cuisine? Marc

Marc, you must forgive my ignorance here. I know there is a difference, but do not know what it is. In error, I’ve used the terms interchangeably in the past. Your point is well taken. The TBC dinner menu definitely refers to their new offerings as “Afromerican-Creole Cuisine (Fusion food at its Finest)” When in the restaurant, I asked about the Cajun items and I think my server was just too courteous to correct me. I need to work on my culinary education in these areas. Thanks for calling me on it. You’ve probably saved me from some future embarrassment! (Although, my face is a little red right now. ;~D)

Just to clear it up a little, when talking to the chef mujib
About the difference, he informed me that what is being served is afromerican creole. Which is a mixture between the Cajun, sweet tangy. It's the infusion of those flavors that can be brought out in every flavor. Like you said with the ribs, chuck, you could taste a mixture, without one overpowering the other. That's the idea! Glad that you enjoyed yourself!

I must have in Salem. Nothing else like it here. A++++ food, great mixture of tastes. A great getaway from the normal boring food of Salem. Definetly well worth the price. Very pleased and will be back to try additional items. Had the Appetizer,Salad, and flat iron steak and dessert for 22. Good price but the flavors make it a steal.
