Don's Cafe

~Review by S&C
bacon n eggs.jpgThey serve breakfast and lunch. Large portions! C had his usual bacon & eggs w/hash browns & toast. Everything was perfect...eggs over medium, has browns crisp on top moist in the middle. Bacon was crisp but not over cooked, wheat toast had good flavor like a seven grain.

I had eggs & hamburger steak w/hash browns & toast. Everything was to my liking!

Daughter S loved her chicken & tots! Son N got a "Thomas" burger (meat, bacon, ham, two cheeses) served on a very delicious bun (Willamette Burger should have these and we'd be back). The tots were great!

The place was impressively clean!!! The theme was "Coke" even the kids sodas were served in the old fashioned coke glasses. They even had stools at the bar. Very bright white w/red trim.

We eat breakfast out every weekend, from Salem to Silverton and clear to Portland. This place you've got to add to your blog....it's worthy of an honorable mention from our family.

Forgot to mention the service was excellent...never a dry cup of coffee and the waitress was friendly with a smile.

This used to be "Chad's Restaurant," right?

Yes. If I understand correctly, it's now owned by the same family that owns White's and Mommy & Maddi's in Keizer.

Thanks for the review. Question: are the hashbrowns homemade, or are they those frozen slabs that you find in too many breakfast places in our fair city?
