10% Discount offered at Cascade Baking Company on items with fresh fruit

With fresh berries growing like crazy around here, Stephen Perkins over at Cascade Baking Company is tempting customers to try his fruit filled pastries and scones. Here's a copy and paste from an email he sent in.

Fresh fruit is now in season. That means that Cascade Baking Company is using only fresh fruits in our baked goods. We purchase our fruits from Fresh to You Produce in Stayton. Currently we are using Strawberries and Raspberries in our Croissants, puff pastries, scones, and coffeecakes. Come by for some wonderful pastries. Mention this notice and receive 10 percent off a purchase of one of these items. Offer good through the 10th of July. Stephen

In other berry news... Have you been to the U-Pick fields yet? In this article on Desperately Seeking Salem, Emily Grosvenor takes her husband and "strawbaby" to Olson's farm to grab some strawberries. Emily has a way of making something that we know is really good sound even better.

With the sun making a late appearance this year, it hasn't been easy to grow strawberries. My own garden is producing about a handful a day of ripe fruit. Here's a picture of a recent harvest.
