  1. No veggie choices from what I can see from the menu. We live nearby, so we'll be sure to check them out for - at the very least - their coffee. You can't go wrong with Tico's,

  2. Someone on Twitter said they'd been here and had a great sandwich the other day!

  3. Judging by the sandwich in Lise's photo, I can believe they know how to put together a great sandwich.

  6. This is in the Pringle Plaza, yes? I had someone tell me they think this place has the best pastries in town.... but I couldn't spot them anywhere last time I went to the Pringle post office. Help!

  7. Yes, it is in the Pringle Plaza. On the same side (North) as Marco Polo and Prudence Uncorked. The Post Office is on the south side of the dividing side street. Sorry, not sure of the name of that street.

  8. Secretly ensconced in Pringle Park Plaza just west of Prudence Uncorked, this little cafe is unknown to many. I tried it for lunch. They offer Deli and Panini-Grilled Specialty Sandwiches, a variety of Salads and Soup. The counter help was cheerful and friendly and the decor was crisp and clean. I had a grilled Pastrami with Swiss on Dark Rye. I chose to lunch alfresco on the patio overlooking the waterfall on millrace. A perfect day, good food and a relaxing atmosphere made for a most satisfying experience.

  9. Seldom do I visit and eatery two days in a row, but mindful of the high meat quality enjoyed in my pastrami sandwich, I came back to give their Reuben a go. It was fantastic! The corned beef was on the same level of excellence as the pastrami. I suggest you find this hidden treasure! (As and added bonus, who should stroll by but K and N of EatSalem fame!)

  11. I just tried this 2 weeks ago and loved it! I had an excellent deli sandwich. This week, I'm bringing my husband to try the Reuben - his sandwich of choice to judge a new lunch spot. My friend, had the turkey wrap and it was really good as well. Nice ambience and a hidden gem!

  12. Heard mixed reviews but then had a less than satifactory experience. I tried Alcyone out for the first time 3 weeks ago with a friend. Our wait was 45 minutes for 2 meals. One of which was wrong. We didn't have time to wait again so we kept the incorrect meal (although we received an apology they never offer to remake it.) Their music was loud which caused people to raise their voices and it was very loud. We did not have time to finish our food so we asked for a box. It took 6 minutes to get the box and when we did we got a very drawn out explanation of why they choose those particular boxes. They make claims of being "green" however, if you see how many light bulbs they burn (that are not energy effecient) you may think otherwise. I later told my husband about the boxes, cups, etc.. and he chucked and told me that he thinks they're wrong about being able to compost them. I checked with Allied waste and he is correct you can NOT compost their materials. Maybe they are misinformed or maybe they're trying to be something that they are not, I'm not sure.

I love the decor and the location but would not return for food or during the lunch hour.

  13. The word sure got out on this place! It was almost SRO there at lunchtime today.

The food and service are still as good as ever, but the noise level today made communication difficult, even with the aid of my new bionic ears.

I had a Reuben (big surprise!) in which my chipper server, Julia, suggested Onion and Tomato. Interesting enough to entice me. It was an excellent additional ingredients. Sandwich prepared precisely as ordered although a Reuben purist might raise an eyebrow to the

It’s still a great place even though the secret is out.

  14. It's great food, and service ! Wonderful smiling employees there to take care of any request. I'm hooked on the Turkey cranberry toasted Panini sandwich... Oh my, what a wonderful thing !
The clam chowder is exceptional, oh my.
