  1. I don't know if it's good but it looks like it's high octane.

  5. Salem Man -- thanks for the warning! And the parking lot scene was BEFORE the coffee?? I know, I'd old, but I can assure you that I NEVER ever acted that way as a teenager! Well, maybe...

  6. Yikes. I do love Dutch Bros coffee, price and southern Oregon roots, but this place *looks* like a teenage, knock-off version of Dutch Bros (similar to another comment above). Won't go near it unless the coffee is extraordinary.

  9. That wasn't a caterpillar, in my day they called that the worm. Moonwalking was always my favorite way of self expression.

  10. teehee, and this will show my age...I couldn't remember if it was the worm or the caterpillar so I went with the most logical. good golly I'm old!

  11. FYI ladies and gentlemen,

The menu there is (until very recently) EXACTLY the same as Dutch Bros. They just copied it and added a red star! Genius! Black Rock should stay more up to date if they're going to be clever thieves... Dutch Bros. updated their s**t!
    LOL
    Lame a$$es...

  12. If I'm paying for a cup of coffee (or anything for that matter) and the staff is dancing around like it's a 3am acid rave, I'd ask for my $$$ back, punch them in the gut, then head over to Dutch Bros.
    ;o)

  14. See, this is why nothing interesting ever opens in Salem. First chance anyone gets all the idiots in town have to rip on something new. Did anyone ever think that the Dutch Bros idea might not have been original? Get your heads out of the sand! The coffee is good and the crew is friendly, so get over it dorks!

  15. The coffee is actually horrible! I'd much rather go to Dutch Bros or Starbucks where its cheaper, better coffee and nicer employees. I don't even know why this place wasted their time opening, but goodluck.

  16. I gave it a shot, and thought it was pretty good. I will be back again!

  18. Wow! This place actually has really good coffee. And when I say coffee I mean coffee (lattes, cappuccinos, etc. not this sugar milk that Dutch Bros and Starbucks serve) Friendly service too. I'm goin' back.

  19. This place puts out one of the best cups of coffee I've ever tasted. Was a little skeptical at first, but looked into the background of these guys and was very impressed. Look them up www.blackrockcoffeebar.com . They stand for serving great coffee and improving the lives of everyone around them. They are an oregon-based franchise that its locally owned, they roast their own coffee and are providing jobs throughout the state of oregon while the national economy is in the tank. Must say their workers are very passionate and zealous, but it is a very nice change from the doom and gloom of the world today. Cheers to BlackRock for providing me with a great cup of coffee every morning!

  22. Great coffee, love the mochas. Fast service and nice employees. Thanks

  23. I agree that the culture of this place is similar to Dutch Bros, but the people are much nicer and their drinks are much better. They seem to take a lot of pride in their product, which I saw is locally roasted. They also have a unique menu lineup, which was nice.

  24. I actually thought it was pretty good. As for being unoriginal, I'm pretty sure Dutch Bros. isn't original. Maybe they have the same concept but just want to do it better. Anyway my americano was great and my wife liked her blended thing, I would definitely go back if they are consistent (unlike starbucks & dutch bros imo).

  25. This Place rocks, the owner Bill was very nice and really cares about his business!! I like the idea the owner took time to say hi to us, the coffee is better then those down the street. and I mean alot better. and for coping who cares they are giving people what they like. black rock copied, dutch copied, star bucks copied, blah blah. What you don't know is that Jeremy Brand was roasting coffee way before Dutch was cool so black rock my be a new name but not new to the coffee game.

  26. I don't know why anyone would compare any place to starbucks. I bought a peppermint mocha and it was horrible. I then realized I really hate starbucks. I do like dutch bros and Black Rock equally but what got me was when they added their 2.00 tuesday. I quit going to dutch unless I was desprite because of prices and they stopped have in 2 tuesdays. Now I am back at Black Rock. They should have a discount for the window stickers too. yeah, like saturday is sticker day. :)
