Sasquatch Sighting in Salem

Click here for review of BiGFOOT Bar and Grill

Good news Salem, Bigfoot is here. I'm happy to report a sighting of the legend along south Commercial Street in front of the old Grand China restaurant. Bigfoot Bar and Grill owners are hoping this wood statue of the hairy primate attracts attention to their new eatery opening in mid October. Eat Salem readers will be happy to know that this great pond front location didn't turn into a Denny's or another Taco Bell. The building is going to be split in half with cheesesteak chain Charley's Grilled Subs opening at the beginning of October. Inside the Bigfoot half, are carved wood tables and stools, a rock waterfall and outdoor seating. The owner gave me a quick tour of the new restaurants and figured out that I'm the Eat Salem guy. I didn't give him my name, but he says they are aware of the blog since we posted the pictures of the vacant Grand China restaurant. I'll have to work on my disguise and show up at an unsuspecting time. One question I forgot to ask on my tour was about their claim of having "World Famous Burgers." When I did a google search of Bigfoot Bar and Grill, there isn't any mention of hamburgers. Where do they get their claim of being "World Famous?"

According to oregonbigfoot.com Sasquatch has been seen 25 times in Marion County since 1970.

We saw the Big Foot sign today, my husband and I both are asking, "How can they say they are World Famous?"

I don't think you should tout yourself as "World Famous" unless you are.

I hope they are better than the "Burger Basket" because so many people claim the burgers there are sooo great, when in fact, they are just ok...

What the heck is with the carved wood Big Foot? I mean, I know it's called Bigfoot, but why did they have to have a carving of one that looks like he's gonna puke any second? Haha, I remeber when I first drove by it, I was laughing so hard, I barely made it to school! That must be how you feel when you come out, haha. Does anyone else think it's weird? O.o
